The Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne is part of the exclusive The Bürgenstock Collection and shines with exclusive service at the highest level. The resort on the Bürgenberg, high above Lake Lucerne, opened its doors for the first time back in 1873. The "Berghotel" quickly became world famous and has always attracted numerous illustrious personalities such as politicians, industrialists, style icons and Hollywood stars. Charlie Chaplin, Sean Connery, Sophia Loren and Audrey Hepburn have been in and out of the hotel, as have Walter Scheel, Ludwig Erhard, Eisenhauer and Jimmy Carter. After a nine-year planning and construction period, the Bürgenstock Resort reopened at the end of August 2017. Contemporary design, 10 innovative restaurants, bars and lounges as well as two spa worlds with breath-taking views of Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps, enchant guests from all over the world.
Location
The Bürgenstock Resort is located 500 meters above Lake Lucerne on the Bürgenberg and a comparable view is very hard to find. The arrival is also quite incomparable: the resort can be reached by the modern MS Bürgenstock Catamaran across Lake Lucerne, followed by a breath-taking ascent on the Bürgenstock Railway.
The resort is located about 20 minutes from Lucerne and about an hour from Zurich airport.

Culinary variety and sophistication await gourmets in seven different restaurants and three bars and lounges. Whether Swiss, Asian, Oriental or Mediterranean - the menus leave nothing to be desired. In all restaurants, guests will find creative and authentic cuisine that combines international recipes with regional products. Local ingredients such as herbs from the in-house herb garden, honey, cheese, chocolate and wine from Bürgenberg are used for delicious creations. The creative mind behind this is Corporate Culinary Director Mike Wehrle, who, together with his more than 100 chefs throughout The Bürgenstock Collection, ensures that guests are treated to unique culinary experiences.

The Parisa - Persian Cuisine offers an authentic Persian dining experience with classic flavours expertly created in a vibrant and unique way and grand views of Lake Lucerne. Nestled in an idyllic alpine landscape, surrounded by pine trees, rolling meadows and a manicured golf course, the Italian restaurant Osteria Alpina Terrazza creates a variety of flavourful dishes. Fun Fact: As one of the oldest golf clubs in Switzerland dating back to 1928, the Alpine Golf Club Bürgenstock retreat was a particular favourite of two illustrious permanent guests, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren. In between movie productions and Hollywood glamour, both sought out the idyllic beauty of the surrounding nature as well as the country charm of the sun terrace to relax and unwind over a home-cooked meal.
The Taverne 1879 is a historic Swiss chalet restaurant in the Bürgenstock Resort with hearty local cuisine, personal service and rustic charm. Swissness at its Best. The cozy sun terrace invites you to relax with cool drinks after a day in the fresh air.

Relaxing hours and active recreation await the guests in and around the resort. Whether golfing on the 9-hole golf course, tennis, hiking, biking, skating, or water sports. In summer, the Hammetschwand lift, the highest outdoor lift in Europe, takes hiker up to the summit of the Bürgenberg with a wonderful 360° panoramic view.
