Spring awakening on Lake Como: Grand Hotel Tremezzo opens the new season
Offenbach/Tremezzo, 27. February 2018: In the US feature film Grand Hotel of 1932, the Russian ballerina Grusinskaya, played by Greta Garbo, called the Grand Hotel Tremezzo the "happy, sunny place". A name that even today is more than true. Opened in 1910, the Grand Hotel not only impresses with its fantastic location right on Lake Como, but also with its own, unique, elegant ‘Grand Hotel flair’. From March 9, 2018, the doors of this iconic palace will once again open for guests, who can enjoy besides culinary delights à la 'Grande Cucina Italiana' in five different dinner locations with lake view and the Water-on-Water Pool, also a new luxurious accommodation and a unique Spa & Wellness experience.
For a glamorous and timeless atmosphere with a breathtaking view, the 75 rooms and 15 suites are decorated in pastel tones and feature rich fabrics. Around 100 windows offer a view that is otherwise only known from dreams, for example in the Deluxe Suites with an unforgettable 180 ° view over Lake Como. Particularly impressive is the new accommodation of the hotel, the Villa Sola Cabiati. Since the 18th century, Villa Sola Cabiati has been considered one of the most beautiful villas flanking the Lake. A hallmark of Italian art, passed through the hands of one of the most noble families in Lombardy for generations, this magnificent residence is now open exclusively to guests of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo. The entire villa can be rented for a minimum of 3 nights and includes the price of a 24-hour concierge service, a private chef, daily maid service, meals and drinks from the Villa's menu, and 2 trips to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, where the villa's guests can enjoy all the amenities of the hotel. Over the years, Villa Sola Cabiati has hosted illustrious guests and therefore each room has its own history. Now turned into museums, these rooms, boasting the original furniture, can therefore also be visited accompanied by a member of the Sola Cabiati family.
Unforgettable moments of pampering, especially in the milder months of March and April, can be experienced at T Spa by ESPA, located next to the main hotel building in the restored 18th-century Villa Emilia, resplendent with original mosaics and slick, contemporary décor. The three-storey, 1,000sqm space houses a yoga studio, gym and the area’s only authentic hammam. The infinity pool, sauna and a tranquil relaxation lounge all offer lake views. Highlights of the ESPA treatment menu are signature therapies inspired by the surroundings, including the Lake Como Relaxing Ritual: The 110-minute treatment makes use of local herbs like thyme and lavender, ESPA products and includes a full body massage, exfoliation, scalp massage, and foot treatment. In addition, Villa Emilia houses its own suite with direct spa access, its own oversized whirlpool, a double rain shower and a private steam room, all lined in Lasa marble. The 20 sqm bedroom with a Simmons Beauty Rest bed with handmade capitone headboard offers guests the best possible relaxation. Totally independent from the main body of the Grand Hotel, Suite Emilia offers absolute privacy for a romantic stay, retaining all the comforts of the Grand Hotel.
For a spring awakening of a special kind, the "The Grand Opening Package" invites guests to admire the first shimmering rays of sunshine on the lake and to inhale the scent of freshly flowering azaleas and rhododendrons on the Tremezzina.
